Tim Shea, AIA - Principal
As principal in charge of Architectural Design and Construction, Tim brings over 30 years of experience to the practice. In a distinguished career spanning over 20 years, Tim was an Associate Partner at Richard Meier and Partners where he served as Project Architect on The Getty Center and the San Jose City Hall, as well as Project Director for a new Federal Courthouse in San Diego. All his projects have achieved a LEED standard and have won design awards including AIA National, State and Regional and GSA Design Awards.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design from The State University of New York at Buffalo and a Masters of Architecture from University of Colorado. He has taught design and architecture in several schools since the year 1998 including Rhode Island School of Design, Cal State Fullerton, and at UCLA for the past decade. Tim is a licensed architect in Colorado, California, New York and Connecticut.
Melinda Shea - Principal
Melinda is principal in charge of Interior Architecture and Strategic Planning. Melinda recently left her position as Manager of Space Planning and Design at Bridgewater Associates to collaborate with her husband Tim in the new firm. Her previous experience includes Vice President at Capital Group Companies as Global Director of Strategic Planning and Design Projects. In this role she directed the planning and design of award winning investment office projects globally for approximately fifteen years. She also served in similar roles for Warner Music Group, Warner Brothers Studios, Sanwa Bank of California, and Atlantic Richfield Company. Prior to her corporate experience, she worked as a Senior Designer at Gensler and Associates.
Melinda holds a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Interior Architecture and Space Planning from the University of Colorado.
Melinda has also focused her time in giving back to her community through non-profit leadership in her role as the President of the Board of the Pasadena Symphony and Pops. Under her dynamic leadership, the organization turned around from the brink of bankruptcy to its legacy as a leader of classical and pops music in the United States.
